About Birmingham Airport
Last year the airport handled 7.6 million passengers compared
to 7 million in 1999. Birmingham Airport's growth is set to continue,
with an anticipated 10 million passengers expected to travel through
Birmingham by 2005!
In order to cater for this demand an extensive development
programme continues and Birmingham Airport passengers can now enjoy
improvements in both terminals, with many attractive retail and catering
outlets and many more additional facilities.
A new people mover system to link the Terminals with Birmingham
International railway station is just part of the commitment to provide
the first class infrastructure that the region demands. This will be
available by Summer 2002.
Last year ended on a very positive note with the launch
of a daily service to Dubai with Emirates and the new year has already
seen increased frequencies on services to the Indian sub-continent enhancing
Birmingham Airport's global connections.

- Information Desk: In the new Millenium Link Block. Open
24 hours.

CHECK-IN, DEPARTURES & ARRIVALS
- Check-In Desks: On the ground floor in the main concourse.
- Departure Lounges: On the first floor.
- Arrivals Concourse: On the ground floor in the new Millenium
Link Block.
FACILITIES
- Baggage Trolleys: Available at the main entrance to the
terminal and in the Baggage Reclaim Halls.
- Rendezvous Point: On the ground floor in the main concourse
adjacent to the American Express Bank.
- Tour Operators Desks: On the ground floor in the main concourse.
The desks are normally staffed 2 hours before flight departure,
for tickets on departure only.
- Taxis: Outside the Millenium Link Block.

FOREIGN EXCHANGE FACILITIES
A Bureau de Change for the sale, purchase and exchange of foreign
currency and travellers cheques as well as cheque encashment (with
a current bank card). American Express Cardmember Services and the
sale of travel insurance is situated on the ground floor.
A recent addition for disabled customers is a till allowing
wheelchair access and a loop system for the hard of hearing.
Further Bureau de Change are situated in the International
Baggage Reclaim Hall and the International Departure Lounge Both are
open daily:
- May 1-Sept 30: 0500-2200 hours

Barclays & Nat West automated cash dispensers are available on
the ground floor. An American Express cash dispenser with 'Link' facilities
is situated on the ground floor .
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Postal Facilitie: On the ground floor in the main concourse.
- Ticket Desks: For scheduled airlines, located on the ground
floor in the main concourse.
- Left Luggage: From 1st April situated first floor, next
to Boots. Also offering key holding and baggage delivery service.

- Medical Centre: The Airport's first aid facilities are
available 24 hours daily. Tel: 0121-767-7137
- Passport Photo Machine: In the main concourse on the ground
floor.
- Fax Facility: Credit card-operated machines are available
in the Business Booths in the Departure Lounge.
- Nappy Changing Rooms: Available at all times and situated
on the first floor and also in the Departure Lounge from the end
of March 2000.
- Executive Lounges: Both handling agents, MAS & Servisair
have lounge facilities for their customer airlines. Business services
available in each lounge. For further information contact either
handling agent.
- Business Booths: In the Departure Lounge with credit card
operated phone/email/modem/fax facilities.
- Smoking Areas: Birmingham Airport has designated areas
for smoking and they are within the Granary buffet area and The
Abraham Darby Pub on the first floor, and within the Departure Lounge
catering outlets, Costa Coffee and Shakespeare Pub.
